How our CSA program Works
You sign-up for a 16-week
subscription and receive a weekly share of fresh produce, grown with organic
practices at the farm. You can choose to have your credit card charged for the
entire subscription ahead of time or you can have it automatically charged every
four weeks over the course of the subscription.
When you sign your contract, you click “agree”
to an installment schedule that is monthly until your share is paid. When you
click “agree,” you are agreeing to be billed the first portion of your bill the
day you join, and then to be billed every 4 weeks after until your account is
paid off. The nature of the CSA model is that members usually pay in full up
front for the season, so that money/working capital is available for farmers to
start the season.
Picking Up Your CSA Share
1. Look for your
name on the list that is posted at your pickup site.
2. Look to see what
has been scheduled for you that day (CSA box, eggs, cheese, etc...)
3. Sign your
name in the space provided before you take your items.
-If your name does not
appear on the list, please do not take anything and contact us at 313-575-2209
or at ashbypasture@gmail.com.
- We only guarantee
pickup during the stated hours, and we are not obligated to keep boxes beyond
those times. No credits are issued if you are late picking up. If you think you
will be late picking up, please contact us ahead of time to arrange an
alternate pickup.
Holding or Donating Your Share
It is easy to manage
your account online! If you are going out of town and would like to skip
a weekly bag, you can do so by simply clicking on the calendar day once you are
logged into your online account, and select the day you will be away. Then
click the HOLD button and choose whether you would like to hold your bag or
donate it. All holds must be placed before 11 p.m. the Wednesday before your
scheduled pickup. By holding your bag, no produce will be prepared for you that
week however, you are still responsible for the weekly payment because you have
made a commitment for the entire season. The “credit” for the unused weekly
share will be applied to your account for use in future weeks. Please note that
a credit will expire at the end of the season in which it was paid. Each member
is permitted one hold per season.
In place of a hold, we
strongly encourage you to consider donating your share to a local hunger relief
program or having a friend pickup your bag for you and try us out for a week!
Forgetting to Pick Up Your Share
You forgot what day it was and did not come
pick up your share. You did not even think to call us! If you are a
no-call/no-show, then your box will be donated for a family in need. If there are
extenuating circumstances (an accident, a fire, a family emergency) please call
us and we will help you on a case-by-case basis.
Renewals
You now can renew
online by simply choosing the subscription you want and pre-paying with your
credit card. We also have an automatic renewal option if you would like to have
the system renew you for the same subscription each time your previous
subscription runs out.
Referral Rewards
Policy
For every new member who signs up and names
you as the one who referred them, you will receive a $25 credit to your
account. Our referral policy is meant to reward you for helping us, so please
take advantage and tell a friend!
Refunds
We understand the CSA
program may not work for everyone and encourage new members to ask questions
before making a season long commitment. If you will be away for an extended
period of time, please let us know so we can make special arrangements.
You commit and
contract with us to join the shares for the season, or for the number of weeks
specified upon subscription sign up. In the CSA model, seasonal
subscription members are seen as active partners, sharing the risks and
rewards of the harvest. Seasonal subscription members may cancel their
subscription at any time, for any reason, however should you choose to cancel
your subscription, we cannot offer a refund for shares. We recommend that you
find someone to buy out or take over your share if you wish to cancel.
Acts of Mother Nature/Mechanical Failure
Please know that our quantities and selection
are subject to acts of Mother Nature/Mechanical Failure and can change at any
time. We make every effort to provide timely information on cancellation,
rescheduling, substitutes, etc., should this arise. Please note that farming is
unpredictable, and items may suddenly become unavailable week to week. We ask
for flexibility and understanding.
